We are excited to be hosting Blake Fox, Project Planning Manager at Norway’s largest energy operator, Equinor, as one of three guest speakers at this year’s Forum Safran conference.

Johan Sverdrup – The 5th Largest Oil Field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

The Johan Sverdrup oil field, which lies 160 kilometres west of Stavanger – the location of Forum Safran – is truly a giant. First discovered in 2010, Johan Sverdrup is expected to hold up to 3 billion barrels of oil and is set to be the largest producing oil field in the North Sea once it starts operations next year.

Once production reaches its peak, the Sverdrup project will constitute 25% of all Norwegian petroleum production and is considered to be one of the most important industrial projects in Norway over the next 50 years.
