Flagship software will analyze schedule risk on oil & gas projects

Safran Software Solutions has launched its next-generation project planning software management tool, Safran Project 5.

Featuring a fully-integrated schedule risk analysis tool, Safran Project 5 allows a project team to model and fully appreciate the impact uncertainty has on project schedules. Project leadership will gain a more realistic understanding of risk and the likelihood of project success.

"With project deadlines tighter than ever before, truly understanding the risk in a project schedule has never been more important. We've worked closely with our industry partners to create a solution which works for them in the real everyday world of project management", says Øyvind Røberg, head of Product Strategy.

Safran software is already known for its integrated reporting capability, so existing users will be delighted with the five new management reports, designed to meet emerging market demand. The user interface has been overhauled, bringing a fresher, more modern feel to project planning.

Other important features include better portfolio management options, and a series of enhancements designed to make everyday use of Safran Project easier and more efficient. Accompanying the flagship release is an all-new version of the scheduling tool, Safran Planner 5.

The excitement about Safran Project 5 has generated record interest in the company's products and services. Wintershall Norway and Teekay recently joined Statoil, ConocoPhillips and Lundin on the ever-growing list of companies on the Norwegian continental shelf relying on Safran Project, while interest in the company's training and consultancy services is at an all-time high.
