Richard takes a look back at 2018 and forward, considering what 2019 has in store for Safran in his end of year message.
If you’re reading this, you’re a customer of Safran Software, thinking about becoming a customer, or just inquisitive about what Safran has to offer. Whatever the reason, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Christmas is a time for looking back and evaluating the lessons learnt over the past year, but also a time to welcome in the new and to get excited for the future. At Safran, we like to do exactly that.
So, we'd like to thank all our customers for helping us enjoy an excellent 2018 and assure you that 2019 is going to be even better.
What Did Safran Achieve in 2018?
2018 was a great year. We saw really strong and positive growth in all aspects of our company. Sales were way up, with diversification into some new sectors such as A&D, transport, and public sector construction – where we’ve gained many new customers.
We’ve also built a solid reputation amongst the SAP community for supporting their investment in Project System. By integrating Safran Project, we’ve unlocked functions these companies have never had access to before, like embedded schedule risk, scenario and resource modelling, and real schedule optimization.
And we've sponsored some excellent conferences – in particular PC EXPO in both London and Melbourne, AACE in San Diego, and, of course, our own Forum Safran in Norway.
We added strong cost risk management to our existing risk management toolset, which is fast making us the go-to company for risk – disrupting a lot of older legacy products still in use. This year we’ve welcomed many new risk customers to our Safran community and, together with Dave Hulett – a real thought leader in the risk world, we designed a risk assessment tool that lets any organization easily measure the maturity of their risk capability and processes. All-in-all, it's been a fantastic year for Safran.
What Does 2019 Have in Store?
Firstly, we’re working to extend both Safran Risk and Safran Project with some exciting new functionality. And, with the help of all our customers, old and new, we expect to continue to grow significantly. In particular, we’re looking to invest in more great people – in our support team, development, our testing team, and all our customer relationship roles.
One way we will give back the investment made by all our customers in Safran as a company and Safran as project controls software is by ensuring we support our user community - which continues to go from strength to strength - and provide world leading service.
So, what can you do to be a part of this success? Well, we’re planning to attend a few of the biggest Project Controls conferences again in 2019 – several international events including the AACE conference in New Orleans and PC EXPO in London and Melbourne, as well as various industry specific conferences around the globe. So the best thing you can do is come along and meet us there!
You can also sign up to receive our regular news updates and thoroughly researched blogs on all aspects of project controls.
I would be very pleased to hear from you with any thoughts, comments, and suggested improvements to any aspect of our Safran business and software. We build our software roadmap based on trends and developments in the project controls market, but we also incorporate input from our customers – so do jump in and send me some ideas! Feel free to email me at email@example.com.
To all our customers, prospective customers and those that are simply interested in Safran – have a lovely Christmas and we’ll see you at the start of a very exciting 2019!
