Safran Software Solutions leverages SAP HANA to deliver in-memory computing capabilities to project- and asset-intensive industries

HOUSTON, Texas – January 13, 2015 – Safran Software Solutions, a leading provider of project planning, scheduling and risk management solutions, announced today its Safran Project solution version 5 has achieved SAP certification as powered by the SAP HANA® platform. The solution has proven to run on SAP HANA and to leverage its unique capabilities. In addition, Safran Project powered by SAP HANA provides customers in project- and asset-intensive industries with more power and control over project outcomes.

“Safran Software Solutions is committed to providing customers with a rich integration and streamlined user experience,” said Dean Edmundson, CEO Americas, Safran Software Solutions. “We have seen increased demand from customers for support of our solution on SAP HANA. Through our partnership with SAP and our solution now powered by SAP HANA, we will help empower customers to more strategically manage projects. With real-time project performance monitoring, and data alignment between project and corporate shareholders, project challenges can be identified and resolved faster – which can directly affect project performance and corporate margins.”

The SAP® Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that Safran Project 5 is now powered by SAP HANA. SAP HANA is revolutionizing the speed of data processing for reporting, analytics and computational tasks. Solutions that are powered by the SAP HANA platform have proven to run on SAP HANA and to tap into the distinctive capabilities of SAP HANA. Safran worked with assistance from SAP partner Rolta and its automated migration solution – Rolta SmartMigrate for SAP HANA – to migrate and certify Safran Project 5 as powered by SAP HANA.

“By running Safran Project on SAP HANA, project-driven organizations are provided with the computing power and unified capabilities required to deliver real-time analytics that can help ensure the highest levels of project confidence,” said Rajesh Ramachandran, president and chief technical officer, Rolta. “We are pleased to see Safran benefiting from the use of Rolta SmartMigrate, which enables customers worldwide to easily upgrade their current environments to SAP HANA to achieve similar results.”

SAP HANA combines database, data processing, and application platform capabilities in-memory. The platform provides libraries for predictive, planning, text processing, spatial, and business analytics. By providing advanced capabilities, such as predictive text analytics, spatial processing and data virtualization on the same architecture, it further simplifies application development and processing across big-data sources and structures. This makes SAP HANA a highly suitable platform for building and deploying next-generation, real-time applications and analytics.
