Following recent investment from the Norwegian investment company Progressus, project management software company Safran is embarking on an ambitious international growth plan. Leading companies within Norway and Northern Europe rely on Safran to control their projects and improve business performance. Now Safran software will be made available to customers and partners around the world.
Safran Project is the leading commercially available project management software solution designed specifically for large, complex capital projects. Safran Project excels during project execution, giving the user an unparalleled overview of project status and early warnings of deviations from the planned schedule and budget.
“The intention of the investment is to further enhance Safran’s position and growth in Norway and internationally. Safran will in particular seek to grow their international presence within the oil & gas market and scale up the organization to leverage on the company’s excellent software.", says Per Arne Jensen, Chairman of Safran.
New software, new features
The release of a major new software product - Safran Project 5 - completes phase one of the expansion. Safran Project 5 includes an innovative schedule risk analysis feature, which allows planners to model duration uncertainty without requiring any additional software.
"With project deadlines tighter than ever before, truly understanding the risk in a project schedule has never been more important. We've worked closely with our industry partners to create a solution which works for them in the real everyday world of project management", says Øyvind Røberg, head of Product Strategy.
The release lays the foundation for future development, with a focus on short start-up cycles, relevant reporting, and further interfaces to ERP and other PM/PPM software systems.
Major projects around the globe
Safran is investing in its core team and expanding its global sales and support network. The new organization will have a particular focus on Oil & Gas, Aerospace & Defense, and Engineering & Construction markets in the USA, UK/Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
When asked why they use Safran products, existing customers cite the superior functionality, along with the unmatched power, capacity and reliability.
