It All Starts When You Run Analysis: Unlocking the True Value of QSRA

Not everyone likes Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA). We know! We can’t believe it either!

This, however, got our guest speaker Simon thinking, and he thinks he knows the problem. Despite QSRA being a critical tool within Risk Management and the wider Project Management function, it is all too often misunderstood and incorrectly utilised.

When undertaken well, it is a demanding exercise, involving multiple stakeholders, capturing and interrogating vast amounts of information, and ultimately using up the one resource none of us seem to have: time. However, by performing the exercise well, it adds significant benefit to the delivery of the Project. Unfortunately, when performed poorly, none of the benefit is realised, but the exercise remains demanding.

This is where the frustration with QSRA is borne. This is where the term tick box exercise appears, and this is why QSRA is often misunderstood within the Project Management community.

Using a historical, but real-life case study, this webinar will guide you through a brief background of the QSRA process, focussing on good and bad practice, and showing how this contrast would feel to the Project Management community.

The case study will then really come alive with discussion around why a QSRA was undertaken, the specific process undertaken to build the QSRA model used, the challenges faced, and the ways in which these challenges were overcome. The webinar will then move away from the inputs to the process and shift its attention to really getting in to how QSRA can make real, tangible benefits to decision making processes, and ultimately to Project delivery.

So, if you are a Risk Manager new to the QSRA process and want to understand how to maximise its value, or you are in the wider Project Controls or Project Management functions, and don’t feel like QSRA has offered you anything to date, join this webinar, and hopefully you will leave with a fresh perspective.
