It’s that time of year again - and we are getting a headstart on the gifts with a fresh version of Safran Risk this December. Version 22.2.36 is available now, just in time to help you wrap up 2024 on a productive note. If you prefer to watch a video summarizing the updates, our Senior Risk and Uncertainty Consultant Chris Ritson gives you at the bottom of the page.
For now, let’s dive into what’s new, what’s improved, and what you should keep an eye out for:
What’s New in v22.2.36?
- Oracle Primavera RRX Import
- Safran can now import RRX risk register files directly, pulling in risk and task IDs, probabilities, impacts, and mappings — all in one go. Less manual work, more time saved.
- Excel Exports for Critical Path Maps
- By popular demand, you can now export critical path maps to Excel. Perfect for sharing insights with your team or diving into specific project milestones.
- Performance Tweaks and Polished Features
- Faster “All Cash Flows” export.
- Clearer labeling for critical and near-critical paths.
- Enhanced importing for XER and XML files.
2024 in review: which improvements were made this year?
This year brought several standout features:
- Risk Mapping Enhancements: You can now access activity duration uncertainties directly in the mapping screen and other schedule columns/user defined fields.
- Advanced Impact Settings: Control how risk impacts are applied - spread them widely or focus on specific areas (and frequency of occurrence).
- Improved Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS): Better importing, exporting, and overall performance.
- Sensitivity Analysis: New controls for faster calculations and avoiding memory (RAM) bottle necks.
- All Cash Flows, All at Once: Tired of exporting cash flows one activity at a time? Now you can export everything into one Excel file, with data organized across multiple tabs. It’s a huge time-saver, especially for larger projects.
